Into the Fields
Each Summer, SAF develops the leadership of college students from diverse backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to work directly with Farmworkers in the Southeast. SAF trains 30 students on farmworker issues, and places them to work full-time with legal aid, health clinics, community-based organizations and farmworker unions. Interns outreach to over 7,000 farmworkers & their families each summer. (Learn more...)

Sowing Seeds for Change
The Sowing Seeds for Change Fellowship is a 6 month leadership development program for college students and recent graduates to improve farmworkers’ access to healthcare as well as advocate for improved living and working conditions. (Learn more...)

From The Ground Up
Through the From the Ground Up program, SAF raises awareness of injustices in the agricultural industry. Through actions, presentations, publications and email alerts, SAF informs and mobilizes students and community members around current legislation, consumer boycotts, and other justice efforts initiated by farmworkers. Levante Leadership Institute Since its inception as a nonprofit in 1992, SAF's Project Levante (“to raise up”) has been providing migrant and farmworker youth in rural NC with opportunities to build self-esteem, develop leadership skills, and prepare for higher education. (Learn more...) |
