According to a recent study, nearly five out of ten farmworker households in NC cannot afford enough food for their families.
SAF Director Named Member of GEO Nonprofit Advisory Council
We are proud to announce that SAF Executive Director Melinda Wiggins was invited to be 1 of 14 nonprofit leaders from across the country to assist GEO in supporting effective philanthropy.
"The Nonprofit Advisory Council is a group of 14 nonprofit leaders representing a wide array of nonprofit types, sizes, locations and missions across the country. These leaders are deeply concerned and engaged with the health of the sector and are thoughtful about philanthropy’s role in nonprofit success. Council members will meet in-person as a group three times over the course of an 18-month term, with virtual meetings in between, providing timely thought leadership, a sounding board, and feedback that will help shape GEO’s work and how we talk about it to our grantmaking members. This group has already been working closely with GEO and each other to provide valuable insights and advice. You can read more about the members of the Nonprofit Advisory Council here."
