“As the Program Assistant, I was able to gain an even broader understanding of farmworker activism than during my internship, while still gaining in-depth knowledge of what it takes to get the job done behind the scenes.  I was involved with nearly every area of the internship, from planning each retreat and workshop, building relationships with interns and providing them with the resources necessary to be effective during outreach, and performing in the SAF theater troupe out in the fields.  Working at SAF headquarters allowed me to interact with and be mentored by SAF staff, and the knowledge I gained from them is invaluable to me.  It was an even better experience than my internship summer, which is really saying something.”  -Levi Vonk, SAF Program Assistant 2012
