Position: Communications Associate, Content Marketing Specialist

North Carolina Oral Health Collaborative (NCOHC) is rooted in the Foundation for Health Leadership &
Innovation’s (FHLI) mission to advance affordable and sustainable quality health services to improve the
overall health of communities in North Carolina and beyond. The NCOHC is a program of FHLI that convenes
diverse stakeholders to identify and resolve consumer-level and systemic barriers to optimal oral health, and
to accelerate implementation of policies and practices that reduce oral health disparities and promote
improved oral health outcomes for all North Carolinians.


About the position:
The North Carolina Oral Health Collaborative Communications Associate, Content Marketing Specialist is a
salaried position reporting to the Director of Communications (FHLI). The person in this position will work
closely with the Director of the NCOHC to accurately and effectively communicate the NCOHC’s mission and
initiatives, while consistently representing the NCOHC and FHLI brands.


Job Purpose:
To develop compelling, actionable content and design while executing strategic marketing and
communications campaigns to promote awareness of the NCOHC’s mission and oral health issues, while
generating engagement with stakeholders across North Carolina. This position is responsible for the
development and execution of all content, marketing, and communications strategies across all NCOHC
marketing channels, including online and traditional media.


Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops compelling, actionable content to raise awareness of the NCOHC’s mission and oral health
issues, and drive engagement with NCOHC initiatives.
• Designs, develops, and executes all aspects of digital and traditional marketing and communications
for the NCOHC.
• Manages and maintains the NCOHC website and blog, including but not limited to content
development and design changes, editorial planning and optimization.
• Manages all aspects of the NCOHC’s email marketing and communications, including but not limited
to content development, list-building, sequences and automation.
• Manages NCOHC social media, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other channels as
determined necessary.
• Manages NCOHC public and media relations, including but not limited to development and
distribution of press releases, media outreach, and event communications.
• Produces video content, including but not limited to storyboarding, copywriting, videography, and
editing.
• Assists the Director of the NCOHC in the design and development of presentations, primarily using
PowerPoint.
• Implements, monitors, and reports on comprehensive marketing analytics.
• Assists in the management of marketing, communications, design, development, and public relations
contractors and agency relationships related to NCOHC, as necessary.
• Collaborates with the FHLI Director of Communications to maintain brand and messaging consistency
and alignment in all NCOHC marketing and communications.
• Presents and reports on marketing and communications initiatives to NCOHC and FHLI leadership as
necessary, including at Board of Directors and Collaboration Acceleration Team (CAT) meetings.


Successful candidates will demonstrate:
• Strong communications skills, including written and verbal communication
• Experience in nonprofit and/or cause-based marketing and communications
• Experience in health care, public health and/or oral health
• A commitment to diversity and respect for people of all backgrounds and experiences
• An entrepreneurial approach to content development, marketing, and communications, emphasizing
efficiency and creative problem-solving
• Experience in social media management and community monitoring and engagement, including
Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter
• Familiarity with marketing and communications technology and software such as WordPress and
Constant Contact
• The ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and prioritize competing demands in a
fast-changing environment
• A commitment to producing consistently accurate and high-quality work, even under pressure and
deadlines
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• A commitment to continuous learning, self-improvement, and professional development
• Spanish fluency or familiarity is a plus but not required


Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in communications, marketing, or related field required, Masters preferred
• Occasional travel is required (<10%)
This is an office-based position in Cary, NC. The position is open for immediate hire.


Compensation:
This position is a grant funded, salaried position with full company benefits. Salary is commensurate with
experience.
