Durham Literacy Center Director of Development

Since 1985, the Durham Literacy Center has provided free literacy instruction and tutoring to over 17,000 adults and out-of-school youth in Durham. Durham Literacy is continually adapting to meet its mission of empowering lives through literacy.

Durham Literacy is seeking a Director of Development with a passion for its work, an entrepreneurial spirit, a proven history of fundraising, and a track record of leading and managing successful fundraising programs. This is a newly created position.

Durham Literacy empowers individuals through literacy by helping their neighbors gain the reading, writing, math, English en_us and educational credentials (e.g., GED) that are necessary to thrive in Durham's prosperous economy, get a living wage job, help their children succeed in school, manage their healthcare and more.
