Education Associate, SC Department of Education

Job Responsibilities

The person in this position will provide direct technical support, program planning/implementation and staff development to Title III, Part A subgrantees and district and school administrators for the effective implementation of English Language Acquisition – Title III grant program activities in accordance with federal regulations, policies, guidance and State Board of Education policies.

Coordinate with other Federal program offices, agency divisions, and vendors to comply with Title III, Part A Federal program reporting requirements. This includes preparing, reporting, reconciling, tracking expenditures, and monitoring progress of state-wide program implementation, results, and recommending changes and improvements.  Develop and lead statewide, regional, and/or local training opportunities and resources in order to increase subgrantee, district and school capacity for effective implementation of the Title III, Part A Federal program. Collaborate with Migrant Education, Mckinney-Vento Homeless and other relevant State and Federal programs to ensure that English learner and immigrant children and youth have access to all educational opportunities at the State Education Agency (SEA) and Local Education Agency (LEA) levels. This position is located in the Office of Federal and State Accountability.
     
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and experience in education, management or business.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university. Hold a South Carolina professional educator certification.  Expertise in the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) as reauthorized under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015.
