Musical Empowerment Marketing & Communications Manager

Musical Empowerment is looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to  start in January 2019 via AmeriCorps VISTA! 

Position Overview
We are seeking to bring on an AmeriCorps VISTA through NC  Afterschool Corps which aims to build the capacity of afterschool programs  through program development, volunteer recruitment, and fundraising! In this AmeriCorps VISTA position, you will serve full-time for one year while earning a modest living stipend of $1025/month, a housing stipend of $400/month, and a $6,000 education award.  We are recruiting for a one-year term starting January 22, 2019! General  Statement of Duties
We’re  looking for a creative self-starter with a with a passion for our mission and a demonstrated interest in marketing and communications to join our National team as an AmeriCorps VISTA. Working in a startup-like environment, the Marketing & Communications Manager  will shape their position and bring new ideas to the role with support from the Executive Director and other ME leadership. This position involves developing marketing and communications resources for the organization that will increase volunteer and board  member recruitment, brand awareness, and donations to support the growth of Musical Empowerment. This job is an excellent opportunity to work with an impactful and growing non-profit, building capacity as we begin to replicate our model at colleges and universities  across the U.S.

Musical  Empowerment (ME) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Carrboro, NC. Through free, one-on-one music lessons, Musical Empowerment nurtures meaningful relationships between collegiate mentors and children in under-served communities. This mentoring  is based on a shared love of music and learning, building a foundation of confidence, creativity and self-discipline to create successful individuals. ME currently has five chapters at UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State, Wake Forest University, East Carolina University,  and High Point University and serves over 250 children across North Carolina.
