Project FIGHT Lead Case Manager

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for a Project FIGHT Lead Case Manager in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Project FIGHT is a statewide anti-human trafficking initiative based in Raleigh, NC and has Case Managers located Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville, Greenville, Boone, and Jacksonville.

Job Summary

Project FIGHT (Freeing Individuals Gripped by Human Trafficking) provides case management to survivors of human trafficking; a coordinated and collaborative response system for victim identification; and seeks to increase awareness / outreach about the issue.  The Lead Case Manager provides case supervision and referral coordination for all Project FIGHT Case Managers.  The Lead Case Manager will also respond to after-hour referral / case calls, according to a rotating schedule.  This position will carry a case load and provide direct services to victims.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and practices of social service case management. Knowledge of social service resources and agencies in the community. Knowledge of effective communication and motivation practices. Ability to work as a member of a team and from a client-centered perspective. Ability to evaluate the client’s progress toward program goals. Ability to work with the public encompassing all types of behaviors. Ability to interview clients and obtain pertinent information. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete case notes, client records and statistical records. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines. Ability to build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with clients and community agencies.  Ability to speak Spanish fluently, preferred.

Education and Experience

Master’s degree in Social Work, or similar human services degree, from an accredited college or university.  Experience working with Anti-Human Trafficking and at least 2 years’ experience providing case management. Multi-cultural experience and ability to communicate in a foreign language is a plus.

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
 

Licenses and Certifications

Valid State Driver’s License
 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to think clearly and quickly in order to maintain control of client caseload. Ability to work in an environment that may include stressful situations. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
