Songs, Games & Scripts

This site contains scripts from past plays, songs our interns have written for health outreach and games that we use as icebreakers or to spark deeper conversations.  Incorporating music, dance, poetry and song makes for dynamic outreach and adds dimension to a skit.  Inspired by Augusto Boal’s Theater of the Oppressed, interns and staff facilitate a variety of theater “games” to explore themes with farmworkers.  With a topic in mind, they develop songs, create human machines, and human sculptures.  These exercises lead to deeper discussions about personal struggles, social justice and the broader contexts within workers are situated.
