We will have live entertainment including Mixtecos Unidos\, Danzantes de Aztlán\, and Mariachi "Orgullo de Fresno State." In addition\, over 25 on- & off-campus organizations will be tabling at the resource fair and paletas will be handed out on a first-come first-serve basis. This year\, Fresno State and CAMP will be receiving a certificate of recognition from the Office of Attorney General Rob Bonta for hosting this annual celebration. (Using the instructions in the call graphic) \nThroughout the day\, hundreds of Milk with Dignity supporters will flood Hannaford’s phone lines to urge the company to join Milk with Dignity. Over the course of the campaign\, Hannaford has received thousands of calls from customers and others in solidarity with the human rights of farmworkers. These calls – along with thousands of customer emails; endorsement letters from faith communities\, shareholders\, and civil society organizations; and dozens of farmworker-led protests – have forced Hannaford to respond. Rather than agree to meet with workers to discuss Milk with Dignity\, however\, the company has opted for false solutions aimed at avoiding accountability and tricking consumers. \nTogether we can fight for a future where all workers’ rights are protected and where everyone can live and work with dignity.

DESCRIPTION:Our nation’s 2.5 million farmworkers face long hours of arduous work putting their health and safety at risk due to exposure to dangerous pesticides and heat stress. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency indicates that over 20\,000 cases of doctor-diagnosed pesticide poisoning are reported yearly. \nThe University of Idaho College Assistance Migrant Program (UI CAMP) is organizing a drive to help protect our farmworkers from heat exposure and reduce pesticide residue exposure. A gently used long-sleeve shirt that is light colored and natural fabric can help prevent exposure to pesticide residues and prevent suffering a heat-related illness. \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us at the People's Solidarity Hub on Fri Feb 09\, 2024 for an exciting film screening and community discussion! \nWe will showcase a thought-provoking film that explores important social issues and sparks meaningful conversations. This event aims to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds to share their perspectives and foster a sense of community. \nAbout the film: \nMudbound is set in the rural American South during World War II\, Dee Rees' Mudbound is an epic story of two families pitted against one another by a ruthless social hierarchy\, yet bound together by the shared farmland of the Mississippi Delta. \nTrigger Warnings: \nMudbound is an intense\, heartfelt drama with mature themes and scenes of brutality\, alcoholism\, and racial upheaval. The film is set in the 1940s with racial tensions high -- the "N" word is frequently spoken throughout the film\, along with other profanity and disparaging sexual references. There are scenes of nudity\, alcoholism\, and one scene showcasing graphic brutality and mutilation. \nWe highly encourage attendees to join us for a community discussion after the film. The discussion will be facilitated by SAF staff to provide a safe space to share experiences and contextualize the film. \n\nGet Tickets Here\n \nNote: This event is in person.
