TITLE: Interim Migrant Identification and Recruiter Grade 59 ($2669 - $3198)
QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual (English/ Spanish) Literacy and Oral proficiency, high school diploma, organization and computer skills, honest work ethic, a desire to serve the Migratory population, self-motivation, good communication skills, willingness to meet and communicate with stakeholders, and a willingness to be a team player, flexibility in scheduling.
REPORTS TO: Director of Federal Programs
JOB GOAL: Identify, recruit, and serve eligible migrant students. Maximize grant funds and provision of services for an effective educational experience for JCPS migratory population.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct Graduation Credit Accrual
Coordinate/collaborate with counselors, student advocates, career development
counselors to complete Four year plans for all high school migrant students
Identify migrant students who are at risk and/or have a low number of credits.
Intervene as appropriate.
Provide Support to Migrant Students in Assigned Schools
Establish relationships with migrant students and teachers
Coordinate tutoring services and transportation with after school programs and
individual teachers.
Complete an individual student Plan for Intervention quarterly.
Facilitate Parent Involvement
Conduct parent interviews and conferences. Assist with planning and delivery of
special events.
Visit farms, families, community based organizations to educate and inform
stakeholders about the JCPS Migrant Education Program.
Maintain State Database (MSIX)
Create and maintain accurate COEs on all identified migrant students
Understand all federal regulations pertaining to the Migrant Education Program
Follow all procedures and practices in the state ID&R handbook and any other
directives issued by the State Migrant Education Program
Transmit all pertinent information to the state database and the state Migrant
Education office in a timely manner
Update migrant student information as necessary. Enroll and withdraw migrant
students for each term of service
Assist in Migrant Audits and Monitoring Visits.
Attend staff meetings
Maintain Migrant Education Annual ID&R Action Plan
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move curriculum and training materials. Maintain a NC drivers license.
