The Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) opened its Trabajadoras Fellowship to applications for 2023. The fellowship is designed to empower Latinas by teaching them what they need to know to become leaders in the movements for labor and gender equity. The program takes six months and promotes gender equity by teaching participants to engage in coalition building, participate and coordinate civic engagement efforts, and raise awareness about Latina worker priorities. In addition to participating in training sessions, participants also complete a long-term advocacy project, and plan and host at least one gender equity event in their community.
Applications are due by Feb. 28. Participants will dedicate at least three hours a month to the program and must be active LCLAA members. Those interested in the program can visit LCLAA.org to join or e-mail [email protected] for more details about the program.
