In 2022, fast food, retail, healthcare, warehouse, and gas station workers across the south launched the Union of Southern Service Workers. USSW came out of the past decade of low wage workers organizing under the banner of Raise Up/Fight For $15. We are building a union flexible enough to build power in the south; a union that can move with us across these high turnover, low wage jobs. Current campaigns focus on Waffle House and heat safety in dollar stores. We fight for:
1. Fair pay we can build our lives on
2. Health and safety
3. Fair and consistent scheduling
4. Dignity and equal treatment; end to racism on the job
5. We exercise our right organize and demand a seat at the table
