Life-giving

February 10, 2022 By Joanna Welborn

I want the future of farm work to be life-giving. So much of farm work throughout the world today is draining, extractive, heartless, and harmful. And so, I hope to see a future where all people are treated with dignity, all creatures with dignity, and all lands with reverence. Among other things, this means fair wages and comprehensive care for farmworkers. This means community support and government policies that bolster local sustainable agriculture. And above all, this means a totalizing reconsideration of values and lifestyles on the part of every person who eats food or purchases agricultural products--so literally everyone!
