SAF’s Levante ("to raise up") Leadership Institute is a program designed to increase educational success and develop social skills of Latino youth from farmworker families in Johnston County and the surrounding area. Through popular education and cultural arts such as documentary and theater, students share their experiences, build confidence, gain leadership skills, and explore options for higher education. The program supports the students' families by connecting them with community resources and engaging them in SAF’s advocacy and organizing work.
SAF also partners with the Adelante Education Coalition to advocate for access to higher education for all immigrants.
