- SAF staff and other Farmworker Advocacy Network (FAN) members and workers met with the NC Department of Labor Commissioner to ask how he will protect farmworkers and other essential workers at this stage of the pandemic and to ask that he enforce the emergency temporary standard that OSHA is supposed to release. During the meeting, two farmworkers shared impactful stories about how COVID has affected their families.
- The SAF Solidaridad and Levante programs ended in April after a great final retreat that included an identity workshop and a training on how to stay involved in the farmworker movement. Check out new stories from the youth and interns on the Field Notes blog about the big issues that have been revealed to them this year.
- We are excited to welcome to our 2021 SAF Into the Fields interns! They will spend their summer providing health, legal, community organizing, and educational outreach to farmworkers and their families. We need to raise $25,000 by June 15th to support outreach this summer and all of SAF's work. Will you make a gift today?
- We're already starting to plan for our End of Summer Celebration in August. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 14 for this virtual celebration! And contact us if you'd like to volunteer to help us plan the event!
